In the grand scheme of things, whether or not you bring your own superfood trail mix on your next plane trip may not matter as much as we think it does.

I mean… my best friend just created the most magnificent human ever from nothing — human cells and stardust — which just puts everything in perspective. Suddenly thoughts of where do we all come from, and how did this baby grow such intricate feet make ordinary topics (like trail mix) seem banal.
But though we may all ponder the perplex mysteries of existence from time to time, we must also pay attention to trail mix. Because when you’re famished and they’ve forgotten your vegan meal, and the person behind you is an ornery 9-year-old… having some chewy and crunchy homemade goodness may be the difference between a bearable long distance flight, and a high-altitude meltdown.
Preparation is key.
