I’ve come to truly enjoy dining solo.

There’s something out-of-the-ordinary and adventurous about it. It’s just you, your food, and an endless spectrum of sensations.

When I was much younger I used to feel sorry for myself when I did things alone. “Waaaaa! I have no friends!” bawled my ego.

(Our ego is usually full of it.)

Shut up, ego. Of course, I have friends. 

Nowadays, however, I’m quite content to leisurely enjoy any outing — be it a meal, a walk, a movie — all by my lonesome, without the fear of looking “friendless.” In fact I crave it. (A liberating feeling.)

Even extroverts like myself need the calm and clarity of one’s own company. Because, in addition to the mindfulness one finds in solitude, sometimes even the best companion is no match for a quiet moment with yourself and the insights found therein.

It was one such “alone moment” which lead me to study holistic nutrition.

How I Came To Study Holistic Nutrition

Around four years ago, I found myself in one of these “alone moments.” The moments where your intuition starts telling you things. Weird things, like… Even though you’ve been a performer your whole life, what you really need to do is study nutrition and start building a wellness empire.

(Intuition is never full of it. )

So though I was, undeniably, surprised by the intuitive hit… I listened. Moving abroad a year prior had, thankfully, cracked me open, and made my ol’ intuition and me into quite good friends.

And the rest is history.
