uti bladder infection natural cures

I’m currently perfecting an oil-free hummus recipe, and though I want to tell you all about it, I won’t.

Because, if you have a UTI, my culinary pursuits, however exciting, are of no consequence. In these moments of pure agony, nothing’s funny, everything’s dismal, and the only thing that feels halfway relieving is sitting on the throne waiting to squeeze out another drop.

UGH.

I feel you. Let’s fix this. (We can talk about hummus later.)

In the following video, I share several tips for not only curing UTIs naturally, but also preventing them. Which, if you ask me, is key. Now you may think that the answer is another round of antibiotics, and though that is the quick and easy way, it certainly takes a major toll on your microbiome, and your immune system, causing a whole host of problems in the long run. (Don’t even get me started on the yeast infection situation.) But even if you have previously been on ‘team antibiotic,’ humor me and try the following tips and natural treatments… just to see. Oui?

Merci.

{Health} Tips to Heal — and Prevent — a UTI Naturally

To recap…

Preventing a UTI Naturally

  • Stay hydrated.
  • Always go pee when you need to. Don’t hold it because you’re “too busy.”
  • Eat a more alkaline diet.
  • Avoid acidic foods/irritating foods, especially SUGAR.
  • Take probiotics — keep that gut flora happy.
  • Wear cotton underwear.
  • Go easy on the soap down there.
  • Pee before and after intimacy, of course.
  • Take D-Mannose after getting intimate if you’re prone to UTIs.

Curing a UTI Naturally

  • If you feel something coming on, take a dose of D-Mannose in some unsweetened cranberry juice and water.
  • Drink unsweetened cranberry juice with water all day.
  • Avoid caffeine (and other acidic practices like… smoking, obvs.)
  • Eat an alkaline diet and avoid acidic foods like the plague. (Here’s a video on what Plant Based Drs eat in a day that’ll give you loads of ideas of what to eat.)
  • Take vitamin C to boost your immune system. (Food sources are best, like camu camu, baobab, and Health Force Nutritionals vitamin C.)
  • Drink apple cider vinegar with water.
  • Try to avoid taking antibiotics. (See the video above where I explain in detail about this.)
  • Completely healing this issue: If you’re prone to UTIs, I recommend the bladder/kidney detox by Dr. Schulze. It’s amazing.
