Lately I’ve been all about Nessun Dorma.
You know, like… Pavarotti.
I’ve been listening to it on repeat and, of course, singing along. (Much to the chagrin of my neighbors. Even if I am a singer, my classical coloratura days are most likely far behind me… plus I’m not a man.) But there’s something so cathartic about hurling your lungs out with operatic vibrato, especially with Pavarotti. His power. His presence.
When he sings:
At dawn, I will win! I will win! I will win!
…you feel like you can do anything. You, too, will win. Regardless of any challenges you may be currently facing. Regardless of the state of the world, or the state of your apartment. You will win.
It’s a great way to start the day.
On that “note,” here are some of my other favorites besides Pavarotti. Per usual, there are some organic delights that have been tickling my tastebuds, a must-see, a must-read, and… other summer treasures.
(But first, watch Nessun Dorma.)
(Did you leave a comment? Or click the “thumbs up” button? Every time you do your karma goes up. And every time your karma goes up, I figure your next life must include more chocolate.)
Thanks again so much for watching my June Favorites!
Much gratitude to you, dear reader,
P.S. If you’re an opera geek like I am, then you need to check out Nino Machaidze. She’s sublime.
