Have we got news for you: there’s a delightful new cake shop in town…and it’s vegan! Your new vegan bakery HQ is called Cloud Cakes, and they serve matcha lattés, quiches, cupcakes, carrot cakes… even croissants, for fabulousness-sakes!
May I just re-iterate that it’s all vegan!
Ann and I are beyond thrilled at this latest addition to the Paris veggie revolution. Because, well, it’s no secret that we love cake. But also, Cloud Cakes is in Montorgueil, our favourite wellness stomping ground (Caelo Yoga is just around the corner). So once we’ve maxed out on the downward dogs, we can fill up on some vegan peanut butter cupcakes… because life is all about balance.
We first tasted Cloud Cakes’ vegan creations at VeggieWorld last spring, and it was love at first bite. Since, we’ve been waiting eagerly for the opening of their first Parisian outlet – and now here it is in all its confectionary glory.
Cloud Cakes is run by a lovely vegan couple, Aelita and Olivier, who were formally an architect and an IT buff, respectively. They decided that they were more passionate about patisserie than the daily grind and made an about turn in their professional lives to set up vegan shop.
Ann and I have already tried and tested lots of Aelita and Olivier’s moreish creations (in the name of research, you see…) and our top picks are:
