Le Figaro: Lies & Prejudice, with Dr. Jérôme Bernard-Pellet

I am mindful about not judging my meat-eating neighbour. I try to be loving and compassionate. And despite the solid arguments for veganism one could put forth, I hold my tongue, not wanting to be *that* vegan.

It’s true, being vegan can be tricky at times.

Not so much because of what you can and can’t eat, nor even because of the challenge of finding shoes that are cruelty-free, chic and comfortable. (We’ve kind of solved those things.)

The trickiness lies in knowing how to react to unsolicited and clumsy ‘counsel’.

I am mindful about not judging my meat-eating neighbour. I try to be loving and compassionate. And despite the solid arguments for veganism one could put forth, I hold my tongue, not wanting to be that vegan.

But then sometimes, those whose choices are questionable, question me, by chucking an unscientific article denouncing veganism at me. Now this is usually water off a duck’s (quack!) back, but the latest one didn’t just question me – it questioned me as a mother.

At which point, the gloves came off.

Much as my instinct told me to respond in an equally puerile way, I decided to be the better person.

So, Ann and I used that indignant fire to set the record straight. Because in this media-driven world, distorted by pernicious lobbies, what we all need are the simple facts, carefully presented by an eloquent and unbiased authority on science. For whom, by the way, veganism remains the answer, for adults and children alike.

So here it is.

Debunking Le Figaro, with Dr. Jérôme Bernard-Pellet

Listen closely to this video, and don’t be deceived by Dr. Bernard-Pellet’s genteel manner. This is the kind of erudite take-down of blustery click bait that can (and will!) change entire belief systems.

As Dr. Bernard-Pellet says, veganism is anything but a trend.  It’s an unstoppable movement that even France can no longer resist.

So, Le Figaro – what say you?

Reportage passionnant.
