My mother sends me a weather report email every night before she goes to bed on the West Coast of the United States, which ends up being right before I get up to start the new day in Paris. She’s just as accurate as my iPhone, though much more charming. Mrs. Météo. 

And the Ile-de-France forecast for today? 100% chance of rain.

Time to get out your wellies and galoshes.

I know that the weather is not exactly a captivating topic for blog posts, however, I do have a point.

Everyone around us is coughing.

Now, I don’t wholly subscribe to the theory that the weather makes us sick, though I do think it can play a part in the holistic nature of our immune systems. Evidence: The weather has been cold and blustery, and everyone’s been asking us for our natural cures for a cold.

Your wish is our command.

So today we spill all our secrets in a 15-minute video. We hope they’ll have you feeling much better all quick-like and in a jiffy-jiff.

Remember: These tips are what we have found to be the most effective in our lives, but every body is different. Experiment with yours and see what works for you.  Though, if you take any of our advice, commit to it. For example, if you want to try apple cider vinegar shots, do it several times a day… give it a real sporting chance to do its magic.

Immunity Elixir

As I said in the video, this ain't delish -- but that's not the point. Cheers to boosting your immune system. ;)

Prep time

2 min.

Cook time

Total time

3 min.

  • Ginger root (1/2 inch perhaps… depending on your tolerance)
  • 1/2 garlic clove
  • Pinch of cayenne pepper
  • Juice of half of a lemon
  • Juice of half of a orange
  • A bit of maple syrup to taste
  1. Throw everything in a blender.
  2. Strain. (Unless you’re hardcore and can handle all the ginger bits. I can’t.)
  3. Drink up! Repeat a few hours later.
