How to Reinvent Your Leftovers

If you're like me and can't eat the same thing for four meals straight, but you, too, want to clear your conscious and stop wasting food, it's time to get creative and reinvent the leftovers.

How to Reinvent Your Leftovers

So, I just had a baby…

but let’s leave that out of this for the moment, and talk about leftovers instead.

Whaaat? (Don’t worry, for those who are interested, I’ll share my birth story soon.)

Now, leftovers may not be as important as magical little bundles of miracle dust (i.e. babies,) but they’re extremely real life-y, and we all have to deal with them. And eat them!

So let’s talk about how to do that… scrumptiously, because your girl can’t eat the same thing three times in a row. Unless it’s cake… cake I can do three times.

How to Stop Wasting Food

The reason why reinventing leftovers is so bloomin’ important is because, above all, we don’t want to waste food. There’s so much food waste happening in the world, and we do not want to add to it.

And yet… we all do – last week’s paltry leftover Thai food, that weird salad dressing that wasn’t half bad (or half good), batched quinoa that you are SO over… at some point or another, it gets chucked in the trash. Now, you may feel slightly better about yourself if you spoon it into the compost, but don’t be self-righteous – you’re still wasting food. (I have a compost… so I’m mainly talking to myself right now.)

But there is another way.

If you’re like me and can’t eat the same thing for four meals straight, but you, too, want to clear your conscious and stop wasting food, it’s time to get creative and reinvent the leftovers. I assure you that the tips I share in today’s video will spare many a tupperware container filled with food from being jettisoned into the wasteland of your kitchen garbage.

How to Reinvent Your Leftovers

Now, I’d love to hear from you. How do YOU reinvent your leftovers? Also, if today’s video inspired you to get fansay with your leftovers, please let me know how it goes in the comments below! I love hearing from you!

Wishing you a fabulous end of your week. Now, I must get back to my little miracle bundle…

Great ideas! Sauces, stuffing, blending. And amazing what an oven can do to perk up leftovers with a topping.
Sometimes I freeze leftovers and when I get them out they seem fresh again.
    Thanks for all the tips.

Oooh good idea to freeze your leftovers! That way they do seem new and fresh again after a week or two! Thanks so much for sharing this tip. 🙂

I carried an owl vase across an ocean. It never held a single flower. This week's video is about what actually earns its place — across three boys, four years, and one very ruthless edit.
