It’s not too late to get fired up about this shiny new year! If, like me, you came to the end of the year feeling mostly overwhelmed about where on earth 2018 went, know that you can turn it around with our Year-End Ritual – it’s guaranteed to get you raring to go!

The first step in the ritual, ‘what went well in 2018’, will put you in a fabulous mood, inspired to set your goals for 2019 from a place of high energy and gratitude. When you actively seek out the fantastic and positive stuff in your life by making a list of them, you’ll feel so much juicy gratitude for the many blessings you have. I recommend scrolling through the photo album on your phone for this, because we forget so much, don’t we?

This positive energy is then used for examining what didn’t work so well, from a proactive perspective. Because there’s no need to beat yourself up about these challenges; by objectively recognising what went wrong, you can stop the negative stuff in it tracks, simply by putting new daily S.MA.R.T. habits in place this year.

The Power of S.M.A.R.T. Habits and Goals

Why do we talk of S.M.A.R.T. habits and goals, and not New Year’s Resolutions? For me, goals always feel pie-in-the-sky, especially when life takes over and we struggle even to keep our heads above water. But little habits can be done today, even while balancing family, work, hobbies and home life. I can’t tell you how energised I now feel from just chipping away at my goals in a small way every day.

Daily yoga is one of my new S.M.A.R.T. habits. It’s been a lot of fun so far, all thanks to Baby Magnifique. He takes great pleasure in clambering onto my back in child’s pose, seizing the golden opportunity to suckle while I’m in triangle pose and… pulling my pyjama bottoms down in mountain pose. Never have I laughed more while doing yoga. It’s far from perfect, but I love it!

As for my other goals, I already have a lot to share, but I’ll keep that for another post.

Setting S.M.A.R.T. Goals with the Veggie Magnifique Year-End Ritual

Do the Year-End Ritual along with me – you’ll feel fantastic for it, I promise. ?

Here’s to a shiny and fresh new year, and to making leaps and bounds towards our goals. And also, here’s to first celebrating ourselves where we are right now. ❤️

Why Motherhood Burnout Has Nothing to Do With Strength (And the Defaults That Actually Help)

Arnold treated our family kayak trip like interval training. Edgar bragged about it all day. Ernest tried to capsize us. And somehow, that afternoon, I felt completely calm. Here's why.

I carried an owl vase across an ocean. It never held a single flower. This week's video is about what actually earns its place — across three boys, four years, and one very ruthless edit.

There's a library book that lived behind my shoe dresser for a year. It's the perfect metaphor for what happens in your fridge every week. Here's the system that finally fixed it.
