4 Vegan Cooking Tips... If You Can't Cook!

In the words of Chef Gusteau from Ratatouille – one of my absolute favorite movies – “anyone can cook.” (Even, in this case, a rat from the countryside.)

However, just because the door is open to anyone and every species (in the movies at least,) that doesn’t mean that it’s easy for everyone. I’m fact, it can be downright overwhelming.

For example, I shudder to think of all the wasted food in my fridge from when I lived in LA with roommates in my early 20s. I would buy bagged salad and raw veggies with the best of intentions, and end up eating takeout. Other times, I would stare helplessly at my fridge in a state of ravenousness… and then eat a couple bowls of cereal instead.

Cooking, like any skill, can seem entirely daunting at first blush.

Something that may come naturally to some, can be entirely mind-boggling to others.

Whereas some people grew up in the kitchen helping their mama (or papa!) prepare meals, others were shooed out. Or perhaps your parents didn’t even cook, and you were fed some combination of pizza pockets and TV dinners.

Whatever your story, by implementing the few tips and tricks I’m sharing today, plus a little practice and perseverance, you can cook. Furthermore, learning how to cook some basic meals at home is so worth it – for your health and wallet!
