Want to change your life? Time to change yourself. Here's how...
In Wellness
I used to live in L.A.
A long, long time ago now, but recent enough to still ache a bit in the pit of my stomach when I hear the words, “Los Angeles.”
Regret? Probably.
Unpleasant memories? Certainly.
Why?
Well… I wasn’t happy, and I wasn’t healthy.
Sure, I did yoga, I went to juice bars, I meditated… I was an Angeleno after all. But there was something missing. Actually, if I’m being honest, there were many “somethings” missing.
Now, I could write a book about my arduous decade in Los Angeles, and one day I might. (Could be cathartic?) But for our purposes today, let’s just say that it was a “period of sub-optimal habits”… otherwise known as, “my twenties.” Ha!
(For those of you who have, or had, it all figured out in your twenties, I applaud you. Myself, I was a hot mess with a rampant case of the Dunning-Kruger Effect. Btw, for those of you who knew me in my twenties, thanks for putting up with me. ?)
Anyway, back to my “sub-optimal habits”…
Habits are what you do every day, so habits are… your life.
Nowadays, I enjoy an unparalleled vitality most of the time – not that I don’t have my own challenges, concerns, and bad days, but I feel so much better than I ever did in the past. And most of the healthy habits that I have in place today, weren’t in place back then, so I am keenly aware of the difference.
(Note: I’m not saying L.A. was the cause of my subpar life – certainly some people like it there – it just wasn’t my cup of tea.)
All this to say — yes, habits can be life-changing! And today I’m going to share my top ten.
Now, as I say in the video, if any of these habits speak to you and you’d like to try them on for size, I highly recommend that you don’t over commit. Just choose one or two to implement, lest you get overwhelmed and abandon the endeavor entirely. (Another book I could write since becoming a mom would be “Lessons in Overwhelm.” *nervous chuckle*)
Let’s say “no” to overwhelm, and seek out small changes which produce big results.
Mentioned in the video:
So there you have it – my top ten life-changing habits! I truly hope that you took something away that’ll help you. If you did, it would mean the world if you would share this with a friend.
In other news, Edgar is rolling rolling rolling, and it’s so exciting!
