Breastfeeding Friendly Capsule Wardrobe | Spring-Summer

Clothing yourself is sort of like feeding yourself, you can’t escape it – unless you’re a nudie.

Breastfeeding Friendly Capsule Wardrobe | Spring-Summer

Since my wardrobe has had to be drastically altered over the last year and a half (first with pregnancy, and now with nursing,) I’ve had the opportunity, and necessity, to rethink my style.

What kinds of pieces, colors, and cuts do I naturally gravitate toward? What actually suits my current figure and needs?

Another result of all this thinking (mostly while breastfeeding,) has been coming up with words that encompass what “feels like home” as far as my style goes.

I’ve pegged:

Nautical
French
Tomboy
Classy

And I’ve also realized that I feel my best in high-waisted, wider bottoms, and on top, I’m happiest in stripes, and raglan or dolman sleeves.

Truth be told, it’s not that I’m even super into fashion or clothes… it’s more that I enjoy feeling put together and confident, and above all, streamlining my closet to work efficiently. Clothing yourself is sort of like feeding yourself, you can’t escape it – unless you’re a nudie. Every day you have to get dressed and do some eating, so it’s a worthwhile pursuit to put a lil’ thought and effort into clothes and cooking.

That’s how I see it anyway.

(Of course, capsule wardrobing has been exceedingly helpful in this regard and I highly recommend it. To learn more about curating a small closet, be sure to check out the Slow Living Veggie Magnifique playlist.)

How to Create a Nursing-Friendly Capsule

It’s been comical just how many of my clothes don’t work for nursing. Since I don’t generally go for plunging necklines, I’ve had to be a bit innovative (and also buy a few things) to make sure I’m able to feed my son without doing the complicated two-shirt-pull-up-shebang. (And I’m just going to say it… some nursing tops are pretty heinous, stylistically.)

So, in today’s video I’m going to share some go-tos that I’ve found helpful, as well as some of my fave pieces that’ll be taking me through spring and summer.

Another "key" to curating a fun mom capsule? Gettin' a bit fansay and adding in some sparkle. :) More about Ana Luisa jewelry in the video.

Spring-Summer Capsule, Postpartum Style!

So let’s get into it! I’m so excited to finally be able to wear easy-breezy clothes! Spoiler alert: (Most) dresses are your breast friend when you’re nursing!

Mentioned in the video:

I hope you enjoyed doin’ a little capsule-wardrobing with me today! I highly recommend curating a small (and seasonal) closet, especially if you’re a busy mom. It just makes life easier and less-complicated… and we like that.

Talk soon,

P.S. Definitely take a moment to peruse Ana Luisa’s sustainable jewelry, whether you’re a mama or not.
