Eco Maternity Lookbook

I've come to the conclusion that, for me, compared to "new momming," pregnancy was a cakewalk. Of course, one of the easiest aspects was getting dressed in AM, thanks to my über-minimalist maternity capsule.

Eco Maternity Lookbook

Ah, the seasons of life…

*stares off into the distance*

One constant in life is that not much actually remains constant. I’m acutely aware of this transience when I think about how drastic of a change my current season is from even just two years ago.

Yesterday’s season was independent, wide open, exotic, fancy… Today’s season is a home season. It involves less glamour and get up and go, and more staying put and staying still. More sacrifice, but more salience.

Whereas before no one really relied on me for anything of consequence, now I’m relied on for the very existence of a special little human.

It’s powerful and poignant, and also overwhelming and taxing.

Do I miss the old season? Yes. Yes, I do. But that doesn’t mean that I don’t embrace the current one, nor do I forget that this, too, shall pass.

(Lots of deep reflection, eh? ‘Tis the season… Ha!)

With my studmuffin.

The Season of Pregnancy

Now that the season of pregnancy is behind me, I’ve been reflecting on the whole experience. The highs, the lows, the challenges, and the surprisingly easy-breezy aspects… (Want more pregnancy content? Check out my natural + vegan pregnancy playlist on YouTube.)

I’ve come to the conclusion that, for me, compared to “new momming,” pregnancy was a cakewalk. Of course, one of the easiest aspects was getting dressed in AM, thanks to my über-minimalist maternity capsule.

Pregnancy – The Perfect Time to Try Out a Capsule Wardrobe!

Here’s the thing… there’s no time like pregnancy to embrace the sweet simplicity of a capsule wardrobe. All you need is a few fantastic pieces and you’re set.

After all, it would be silly to buy a huge wardrobe for, let’s be honest, only a few months. (At least for me… I didn’t need maternity clothes until practically halfway through my pregnancy.) As such, I highly recommend all expectant mamas to cultivate an eco-capsule for this fleeting season of life.

Naturally, when you have fewer things, it becomes more viable to have nicer things, and be a more conscious consumer.

My Eco Maternity Capsule Lookbook

Today’s video is a look at my maternity capsule that was carefully curated with mostly sustainable and eco brands. It feels good to wear natural fabrics, and to support smaller businesses who aren’t playing the egregious fast fashion game.

Hope you enjoy the lookbook shot in the ever-lovely New England. (We certainly cut this one close – I was 39 weeks when this was filmed!)

I realize that this post has been a long time coming, and I want to just thank you for your patience. It turns out having a newborn is a full-on, all-encompassing-all-day-all-night-thing… and I haven’t yet gotten my bearings. (Other moms out there – Will I ever get my bearings back?)

Wishing you a glorious pre-Christmas week. Hope you can find the glee amid all the holiday go go go. Let me know how you’ve been in the comments below? It’s always a joy to hear from you, my friends and readers – I’ve missed you!

Big holiday hugs,
