1st Trimester Vlog – Part Two | Vegan Pregnancy | Gender Reveal + Books I’m Reading

1st Trimester Vlog – Part Two | Vegan Pregnancy

Pregnancy: An incredibly strange and intimate experience… yet one that’s so universally experienced.

We’ve all been born and birthed by someone, and many of you have even given birth to other humans yourselves. It’s so inherently normal, and yet, I still feel like I’m on a different planet. Even when friends tell me, “Oh yeah, me too,” or “that’s totally normal,” I still feel… abnormal. I still feel weird.

I’m trying not to focus on the oddity of it all, lest my little friend in there get whiff of my awkwardness, but… I just want to be honest with you all – it’s weird. I’m overwhelmed, and the fatigue is certainly exacerbating my emotions.

See, I’ve realized just how accustomed I’ve become to feeling good. Since becoming a health coach, and upwatting my diet and lifestyle, I generally feel energetic and vital most of the time… so to suddenly feel so off and tired, well, it’s really throwing me for a loop.

Trying to Focus on the Miracle of Life

So, I’m trying to focus on the miracle of life. The operative word being: trying. Indeed, my husband and I both feel incredibly blessed, and joyous at the news, but it’s just such. a. big. deal. To illustrate, I would liken pregnancy to going to India. No matter how many people you talk to about India, you will never understand India until you go, and it hits you in the face. Boom.

I promise I’m not complaining, I’m just… explaining.

1st Trimester Vlog – Part Two

So, let’s jump into the video, which is a continuation from last week’s first trimester vlog. (I had to break it into two videos, otherwise it would’ve been a veritable doozy.)

In today’s vlog, I bring you along as I do my NIPT blood test, we discuss some of the books I’m reading or plan to read, as well as chat about my diet, my fears, and my feelings.

Hope that you’ve enjoyed coming along for the adventure of my first trimester with me! I’ll be sure to keep you updated.

As I said in the video, I’m always eager to hear (positive) tips and tricks and recommendations from you, dear readers! Thank you in advance.

Talk soon, and have a beautiful rest of your weekend,

You’ll feel better soon. Next week you’ll probably be signing up for the moms-to-be exercise classes.

I carried an owl vase across an ocean. It never held a single flower. This week's video is about what actually earns its place — across three boys, four years, and one very ruthless edit.
