Declutter My Closet With Me! | Matcha + Minimalism

A total closet clean out was long overdue…

Since moving to New Hampshire, I’ve had to alter, shift, and add to my closet quite a bit… adding in winter wear, especially, as well as pieces that I can get dirty, and ones I can wear to roll around on the floor. (I explain more about this in the video.)

The result? Things started piling up, and my messy and chaotic closet was making me feel messy and chaotic.

Now, I look forward to the day when I have more of a handle on my time and schedule, whereupon I’ll certainly curate once again a fantastic capsule wardrobe, but in the meantime, a sort-through and clean out of my closet was definitely needed. After all, even minimalists-in-training fall off the bandwagon sometimes.

Matcha + Minimalism

In my opinion, every minimizing task always goes down a little sweeter with a cup of matcha.

In today’s video I’m just using up the remains of an old matcha tin, so I don’t really have a recommendation for you. I’m on the hunt for more delectable matchas, so please do let me know if you’ve found one that’s silky, smooth, and delightfully grassy.

In the meantime, nothing beats Sunday Natural’s matcha, honestly… but my nose is a bit out of joint because they want to wait until I have 10k followers to partner with me. So, alas, I don’t have a discount code for you. 🙁 *sigh* Just some behind-the-scenes info for you… as much as I wish it weren’t so, and that we were judged on the content of our character – and the character in our content – sadly, the numbers matter. And apparently, I’ve yet to crack the code.

Vlog: Declutter with me!

Today’s vlog is more participatory than curl-up-with-a-cup-of-tea-and-watch, so I hope you’ll join me in decluttering your closet. Honestly, just this solitary act does wonders for your morale and peace of mind.

And remember the Marie Kondo mantra: Does this spark joy?

If it doesn’t, thank the piece, and move it on out.

And with that, let’s hit “refresh” on our closets!

Mentioned in the video:

Thank you so much for decluttering with me! Here’s hoping you’re inspired to pare down and minimize on your end, or at least do a little spring clean out! (‘Tis the season…)

Wishing you all a wonderful week, and I’ll see you back here very soon,

Arnold treated our family kayak trip like interval training. Edgar bragged about it all day. Ernest tried to capsize us. And somehow, that afternoon, I felt completely calm. Here's why.

I carried an owl vase across an ocean. It never held a single flower. This week's video is about what actually earns its place — across three boys, four years, and one very ruthless edit.
