If you're going with the program, you're in your bed every night. And your skin absorbs what you snuggle and roll around in, so we want to do our best to surround ourselves with healthy, non-toxic bedding.

Back when we lived in Paris, sometimes out-of-town friends would ask to come and stay with us. (It just so happens that you have many more friends than you thought when you live in Paris.)
It’d always go something like this…
He or she would call or write, chirping, “Guess what!? I’m coming to Paris! Yay! Can I stay with you?”
“Oh man, I’d love for you to stay with us,” I’d explain,”but our place is rrrrreally small so there’s no room.” (My American friends, at least, could never really understand what 26 square meters looks like.)
“Oh, Ann… don’t worry! I’m fine with a couch.”
“Umm, yeah, that’s just it…” I’d nervously chuckle, “we sleep on the couch.”
*crickets*
Yep. A pull-out sleeper bed, couch thing. Ça c’est Paris.
All that to say, now that we have a liiiiittle bit more space, and an actual bedroom – praise be – it was beyond delightful to get to outfit it as we saw fit. So we took our time. (Too much time if you ask me, but I’m surrounded by analytical research junkies… anyway, at least we didn’t have to sleep on an air mattress for more than a week… and a half. ?) And we carefully chose each item, relishing in the experience of personally creating our own cozy cocoon.
Now, as I explain in the video, we chose to invest in the bedroom specifically due to the toxic chemicals found in most conventional mattresses and bedding. Because, if you’re going with the program, you’re in your bed every night. And your skin absorbs what you snuggle and roll around in, and if there are toxins in your bedding or mattress, you’re breathing them in, too.
So just like surrounding ourselves with healthy, non-toxic relationships, we also want to do our best to surround ourselves with healthy, non-toxic bedding!
But I go into more detail in the video…
Mentioned in the video:
Remember, as I explained in the video, detoxifying your home is a process. We’ve started over practically from zero, so we’re in a unique position. I realize that most of you haven’t just moved. But we can all be mindful going forward of the timeless mantra:
Reduce. Reuse. Recycle. Buy Organic. Choose Vegan.
Or something like that. 😉

Interesting! A good reminder to pay more attention to this kind of thing.
Thanks, Aunt Liz! Yeah! Why not? Just something to keep in mind for next time. Thanks so much for your support. <3
Thanks for your comment, Elisabeth! And yes… it was an interesting topic to research. I was a bit appalled frankly!
