2 Keys to Postpartum Weight Loss

There will be no fad dieting. My focus right now is being the best mother I can be. I can't be patient and loving, and *hangry* at the same time.

This post was written by the lovely Chloe Dunn who was previously a part of Veggie Magnifique. To keep up with Chloe, visit her professional site.

The weeks and months following birth have been dreamy; a milky haze of love, cuddles and kisses. I’ve got to know my baby, and also myself as a mother, and my partner as a father. So much change, so much growth, and I am filled up to the brim with love for my brand new little boy. I think I’ve developed an addiction to kissing his silky soft, chubby cheeks.

Meanwhile, my enormous bump has been gently deflating, with the help of online yoga classes and a lot of baby carrying. But, three months into motherhood, I’ve still got some leftover pregnancy pounds to lose, and I’m starting to get a little tired of wearing stretchy trousers. So I’ve decided it’s time to step up my game.

But there will be no fad dieting. My focus right now is being the best mother I can be. I can’t be patient and loving, and *hangry* at the same time. Plus I’m breastfeeding. So no crash diet, no detox tea, no diet pill. What I will be implementing however are little, gentle changes, every day, and focusing on building a rock-solid positive mindset. If you’re reading this because you’re in your postpartum period too, and are looking to lose the baby weight, I encourage you to be gentle with yourself and recognise that your body just performed an incredible feat: growing a human being. So no pressure, and no dieting against the clock, yeah?

What we’ll be going for here is an increase in self love and positivity, that will naturally result in healthy food choices and a desire to exercise. Sound good? Check out the video below to find out more.

I really hope you enjoy this video. It’s the first instalment in our new series on postpartum weight loss, so expect more updates along the way, and some fun stuff on social media too.

So how about joining me on this journey? Whatever you’re going for – postpartum weight loss, toning up, reassessing your eating habits – you’re so welcome to join in. The more the merrier! Let us know in the comments below if you’re on board, and also what your goals are.

Love,

I carried an owl vase across an ocean. It never held a single flower. This week's video is about what actually earns its place — across three boys, four years, and one very ruthless edit.
